Yvonne Dunlevy - Practice Nurse

Yvonne trained as a nurse at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Dublin. She developed an early interest in Orthopaedic Surgery and completed her Orthopaedic Nurse training at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh, Dublin. From there she completed the Plaster Nurse Course in the UK and was appointed as the Plaster Nurse at Temple Street Children’s Hospital Dublin, before moving to Waterford.

Susan Fitzgerald - Practice Secretary

Susan is a proud Kildare lady, who qualified as a nurse and worked in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Accident and Emergency Medicine. She then undertook a BSc in Information Technology at the Waterford Institute of Technology in 2007. Susan takes care of all the day-to-day running of the practice, including surgical bookings etc.

Jo Breheny - Orthopaedic Nurse Specialist

Jo has 30 years of nursing experience, with 25 years in Orthopaedic nursing. She has an active interest in Teaching, Audit and Falls Prevention. She also established the Joint School at Whitfield Clinic. This is an educational opportunity available to all patients and their families prior to their joint replacement surgery. It is aimed at providing clear and comprehensive guidance on all aspects of their pending surgery. As part of the Joint School, patients are objectively scored before and after their surgery, as part of an international research project to document outcome after Total Knee Replacement.

Shane Walsh - Chartered Physiotherapist

Shane and Orla are our two highly experienced chartered physiotherapists who will guide your rehabilitation following your surgery. Both come with many tips and tricks to facilitate your safe and speedy return to full function. Shane is a keen triathlete with lots of sound training tips for your rehab.

Orla Dunphy - Chartered Physiotherapist

Both come with many tips and tricks to facilitate your safe and speedy return to full function. Orla might even give you some advice on how to improve your golf swing!

Lucy Grannell - Orthotist and Podiatrist

Lucy, originally from Wexford is the only dual qualified podiatrist/orthotist currently working in Ireland. She attended the University of Salford and completed a BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2003, going on to specialise in orthotics. She worked in Bristol NHS Trust in several disciplines including rheumatology, stroke and musculoskeletal conditions, specialising in lower limb biomechanics. Following her return home to Ireland in 2008, she attended NUI Galway where she expanded her knowledge when she completed a BSC in Podiatry.
