I have just returned from a brilliant 3 day meeting in Gothenburg all about knee arthritis. I was among 900 knee surgeons from 37 countries, with a first class faculty. Topics included meniscal tears, non-operative treatments, partial knee replacement, meeting patient expectations, the difficult knee and the medical management of patients having knee replacement. Certainly the expectations session was very useful. There are many new developments happening, such as asymmetric poly inserts and anatomical tibial trays. Likewise the development of new biologics is evolving rapidly.
