I hosted the inaugural SouthEast Foot & Ankle Physiotherapy meeting last week at Whitfield Clinic - as many Foot & Ankle conditions can be optimally managed non-operatively with a good physiotherapist. The goal of the meeting was to assemble interested chartered physiotherapists, to initiate discussion, interaction and education among the group. The meeting was a great success, with physiotherapists from Cahir, Clonmel, Carrick, Tramore, Waterford, New Ross and Wexford in attendance.

We elected Derek O'Neill as group secretary and hope to develop an on-line forum for further interaction. Plantar Fasciopathy, Achilles Tendinopathy and the Intrinsic minus foot were debated in detail. Further literature will be posted to the discussion group and hopefully everyone will travel to the annual IOFAS meeting in Belfast next May.
