International Knee Arthroplasty Symposium

September 23, 2018

I recently attended the IKAS meeting in Berlin. This was an excellent few days, emphasising new techniques in knee replacement surgery - both primary and revision techniques. Topics discussed were the increasing concern with obesity, with some centres opting not to operate on patients with a BMI > 40.  Other topics included Infection Prevention, patellar design, the use of stems or not and many more exciting topics. There was ample opportunity to discuss cases with the faculty and to review new technology in evolution.
